Noughty Monté

An oak-aged non-alcoholic Syrah from South Africa, with blackberry, spice and a dry, lightly tannic finish.

Noughty Monté

Noughty Monté is made from Syrah grown in dry-farmed vineyards in Darling, South Africa. The wine spends more than twelve months in French oak and undergoes malolactic fermentation, adding structure before gentle alcohol removal.

Tasting notes

Blackberry and a little spice accompany a ruby colour. The palate is fruity, with tannin through the middle and a dry finish.

Why it stands out

Extended oak ageing distinguishes Monté within the Noughty reds. Low-temperature spinning-cone treatment under vacuum reduces its alcohol to below 0.5%.
